Would you like to be in a movie theatre one minute and at a birthday party another? Feel Christmas spirit all around or travel back to nostalgic childhood Sundays? Seems impossible, right? However, a Cypriot entrepreneur Zozzy Constantinidou found a way to make it happen! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How did it start?<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Zozzy always was a big fan of candles. She was\nconstantly searching for different scents to fill her home with. Around the\ntime of the first quarantine, Zozzy was searching for a popcorn scented candle,\nbut it was nowhere to be found. \u201cThe whole process of finding that perfect\nscent really excited me due to the endless possibilities of scents and how it\npushed my creativity. That is when the idea of my first ever Candle \u201cMovie\nNight\u201d with a caramelized buttered popcorn scent was born!\u201d says Zozzy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That was also the time when \u201cDaynight Candles\u201d\n\u2013 Zozzy\u2019s business was started. Before that, Zozzy was a full-time Graphic\nDesigner, which she had studied in Florence, Italy. Being a very creative\nperson, Zozzy enjoyed the possibility to be creative when making candles: \u201cMixing\nscents, naming a product and creating an overall experience for someone is\nsomething that I really love doing! Along with my graphic design expertise, I\nwanted to create candles with specific themes that intended to create a feeling\nor even change the mood of someone who enjoys them!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The young entrepreneur says that the most\ndifficult thing when starting this particular business type was the lack of\ncandle supplies she could find in Cyprus. \u201cIt was a slower process for me\nbecause I wanted to find specific materials that were natural and eco-friendly,\nstarting from the wax all the way to the shipping supplies. Learning how to\nmake a candle to light up correctly and fill the room with that perfect scent\nwhile also being safe for my future customers was easier for me as I really\nwanted to provide the perfect product. I am really passionate about this craft,\nand I have to say that I learned (and am still learning as I go) pretty fast. I\nreally enjoy the process of testing and learning!\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How is it going?<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDaynight Candles\u201d is now a small but\nsuccessful business. As Zozzy says, the one thing that helped her business grow\nfaster than expected was word of mouth when she started selling. \u201cI didn\u2019t\nstart spending money on advertisements until some time after the first product\nlaunch. I am really glad that people like what I have to offer and support me!\u201d\nZozzy and her candles were noticed by the national television channel in\nCyprus, RIK, which has invited her for an interview and to present her candles in\nthe morning show \u038c\u03bc\u03bf\u03c1\u03c6\u03b7 \u039c\u03ad\u03c1\u03b1 \u039a\u03ac\u03b8\u03b5 \u039c\u03ad\u03c1\u03b1!<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zozzy says that if she had to, she would definitely\ndo it all again! And, knowing all she knows now, she would have tripled her\nstock on the launch day! At the moment, \u201cDaynight Candles\u201d products can be\nordered online, but Zozzy wishes to open her own little store and not only to\nproduce but also teach other people how to create dessert type candles\nthemselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zozzy\u2019s advice<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMy advice would be to\nlearn everything there is to know about your product\/service, be authentic in\nyour journey and, most importantly, constantly research. There\u2019s a lot of work\nthat goes when starting a business alone; literally every aspect of your\nbusiness, in the beginning, will be controlled by you! Be patient and try to\nplan ahead as best as you can. Lastly, surround yourself with people who have\nthe same ambitions and work ethic as you!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
